(a fact, I've never scored a goal in my 1 ½ year in Brisbane…skali score 4 la plak tournament nih! Satu personal achievement!)Normally, with Anas in the team, he would have scored more than half of that score.. tapi we (owner Perisaikouniti hip hip hooray!) proved that we weren’t there just to make up the numbers! Team Velho might just have played in the most exciting final ever!!! It was like being in a movie..we started the tournament by playing the mighty Centro (budak2 brunei) and met them in the final again.. but unlike the opening match, the final was the a display of our true strength.. Damn fuck, we gave them a really hard time.. Obviously Centro were favorites on paper, they even had the eventual winner of MVP in Huey (the ultimate footballer).. but even without using any subs throughout the course of the final game, as compared to Centro which had a team of all stars if u like, we manage to hold them at 4-4! The manner of that draw was even more incredible, it was like 1-0 to Centro, and we drew level 1-1, then 2-1 to Centro, and we fought back…and so on til it ended at 4-4… After the extra time, it was the unwanted decider of all of the great matches..! PENALTY SHOOTOUT!! Anas was unconfident but I insisted him to take, he scored..the bruneians leveled the score…then ranap, he really wanted to take it at first but hesitated just before his turn to take, aku lagi kena consult suruh dia angkat, thankfully he scored.. and then came my turn, although byk kali miss penalties b4 this, aku tak penah rasa cuak nak amik lagi.. taktau kenapa…so I did, and scored..it was 3-3 and it’s sudden death penalty, mapen was next…he lined up the ball, took a step back..and a step forward, swung his leg, open up his body to the right a bit too much and……SENT THE BALL WIDE!!! Damn! ‘This must be it’ a part of me said…fitz was there to finish the job, he even danced seconds before he took the kick as if he’d already knew the outcome but………………RON SAVED!!!! Cayalah!!! Is this going to be our lucky day?????

*FLASHBACK*…..during the church tournament which we’d won last year, ron saved a penalty and socred one and became the hero of that day…*FLASHBACK ENDS*… recalling that event, I asked ron to have the honor…. Ron didn’t want to, but I reassured him with the ‘church’ story, and he agreed to take… unfortunately he sent the ball wide, and that’s it.. for so many times in the game when we were one goal down, I felt that we were hopeless and would lose, but we came back each time and matched them..but that wasn’t the case after ron missed the penalty.. I honestly couldn’t see us lifting that trophy after the miss, and a Centro player stepped up and convert the deciding kick..it was in fact a kick in the tooth for most of us.. Most of us were left despaired; mapen even confessed that he cried!! I felt like doing so too, not because of we didn’t win the final..but because it was like a movie!! Honestly it was soooooooo DRAMATIC!! Hahah, we fought til the end..we were the underdog team but we fought like lions! And yet we lost.. I was utterly gutted! Speechless for a moment.. Til today mapen still hasn’t cleared the penalty that he missed off his head..heheheh, unlucky bastard.. but hey, sape2 boleh miss penalty..aku anggap match tu sampai habis xtra time je..4-4 dah aa..(ayat seorang yg kalah, hahahah)..penalty nasib (hahaha).. tapi seburuk mana penalty ko pun, takkan ade org dlm dunia ni yg di blame pasal miss penalty even if it means losing the World Cup.. chill la chaaaaaaa!!
