Gile babi!!! that's the perfect expression im using to start this entry. i just got back from buying some groceries at cold storage klcc. i was very2 surprised and upset when i found out the ridiculous prices on the goods there! Gile Babi!! with the same amount of money, i could've bought more in Australia, for 2 person! i've never realised or experienced that msian inflation is this bad, seriously, mengejutkan! here's a comparison between prices of some of the basic stuff in Msia vs Oz. bear in mind ah, im earning, almost the same as i was back in Oz, so save ur time converting e'thing and say ' alaaaa kalau ko convert oz to msia, kan msia lagi murah'.. no dont!! imagine what u can buy with RM1 and AUD1.. u'd be surprised too! we're talking bout, say i earn RM2000 and AUD2000 in respective countries..here goes..

Milk 2Litre - RM11.99, AUD4.45 Bananas/kg - RM5.29, AUD5.99 Wholegrain Bread (Msia-360g, Oz-750g) - RM4.50, AUD3.99 Honey 500g - RM8.39, AUD7.16 Weetbix (Msia-430g, Oz-1.3kg) - RM17.89, AUD4.00
Total RM48.06!! AUD25.59..
hah!! look at that!!! i spent almost RM50 for 5 item that's probably gonna last for less than one week (comsuming alone)!! compared to only AUD25 if i was in Oz, and some of the item like bread n weetbix, offered more in terms of size yet still cheaper!!!! korang tgk beza harga weetbix tu, melampau tak???!!! looking at the total, i spent almost double in kl, meaning if i had AUD50, i could've gotten myself 2-3 weeks of b'fast!! gile kaaaan!!
now u may argue, ni barangan import laa.. ape laa.. i know.. but still, they are the only kinds available at the cold storage..! msia tak produce ke these items yg murah2??? assuming that u wanna lead a healthy lifestyle, this is what u have to pay in KL! and most of us dont, sad to sayyyy..we cant afford to have a healthy lifestyle..tu pasal org makan nasi lemak or roti canai yg cost less than RM5 per day.. murah mmg murah! but, dgn lemak nye, gula nye, garam nye, mmg unhealthy laaa.. and little are being done to promote healthy b'fast either by the food industry..
we can go forever discussing bout this, there are so many areas that we can go into.. like, inflation, cost of living, interest rates, natural resources, production, bla bla bla.. what is the real cause of all this?? but i just want to ask few questions..
why msians still couldn't care less bout health in the 21st century, and at the same time making it ever so costly to take care??
what is it that they have, that we dont to help ourselves live healthy lives?
are we so poor that we have to eat junk and unhealthy stuffs??

sebelum anda ke australia, anda makan ke "weetbix" tu? saya yakin, anasir2 dari abang george(greegan) telah berjaya meyakinkan anda untuk mencuba produk yang sealiran dengan weetbix. memang tidak salah, kerana ianya sihat.malah, saya turut menggemarinya.
seperti yang telah anda nyatakan, harga barang2 ini mahal kerana ianya di import dari negara2 luar. memang benar.tetapi soalan anda tentang kenapa Malaysia tidak menghasilkan barang sebegini, telah menyedarkan saya yang anda telah hidup dalam kesesatan puak urban.
adakah weetbix,susu,pisang,madu dan roti berzat tambahan sahaja yang boleh dikategorikan makanan sihat? bagaimana dengan makanan2 lain yang jauh lebih murah? pucuk pegaga, ulam, dan beraneka jenis buahan tempatan hanyalah beberapa contoh yang ada disebalik timbunan contoh2 yang lain.
bukalah minda kawan dan tidak tersepit dengan budaya urbanisma.
dan siapalah yang beli pisang dicold storage. di klcc pula tu. mungkin hanya orang2 yang kesempitan masa,expat dan orang gaji golongan berada. sekiranya anda tidak tergolong didalam jenis2 manusia diatas, saya nasihatkan baiklah anda sedar diri sedikit sebelum anda membuka lebih banyak pekung didada akibat kekurangan ilmu.
saya minta maaf sekiranya ada terkasar bahasa. saya hanya ingin anda berfikir lebih sedikit dimasa akan datang.
